
AMMONIA ENGINES
Ammonia is a zero-emission fuel, and the most promising
alternative as a zero-emission marine fuel.
The main problems with using ammonia as fuel in
combustion engines are both that it is difficult to
ignite and is slow burning. Cyanide [CN] compounds
can also form if combustion is in combination
with organic fuels (bio- or fossil- fuels).
